Hallo Markus.
I think we stay in English, so the group get something out of it.
First let me know the following things:
- Software- Version
- Date of building
- You wrote, that the "memory-chips" are the problem.... how did you came to
this opinion? And which "memory-chips" did you think about.... the DRAMS,
the EPROMS, ....
- how did you save the user program? via MIDI or by hand?
- If not via MIDI, is any equipment connected to the 2101 MIDI- connectors
while the error appears?
- Have you ever done MIDI- action to your GSP?
- Which kind of restart do you do to bring your 2101 back to earth?
- At your gig... did you store a program while the breakdown happens?? Or
did you play a wild solo ending in a guitar- smashing- orgy??? :-)

Re: 2101: Problems with memory]

Hi Dieter!
-Software-Version: not updated
-Summer 1995 (LE -Version)
-Memory chips are ok., as far as my local dealer says

Uhh... the first dealer who has the equipment to check all the different
memory- chips.

-Programs are stored by hand
-The 2101 is connected to the ControlOne footcontroller via special Digitech
cable plus an extern footcontroller

That would has been the next I asked you. It's important to have a 6- pole
DIN- cable with screen... not a 5-pole- DIN- cable.. make sure! A very
important thing!

- new in my setup is an Marshall JMP-1
Preamp which is connected by the MIDI out from the 2101, problems appear
some
weeks after I installed the JMP!

That means that there never was a plug in the MIDI- IN- Jack of the 2101-
right?
If there never were MIDI- Action at the MIDI-In- Jack we can exclude a
MIDI - problem.... Important!!

But otherwise the first feedback problems during a concert appear without
the
JMP!
This problem appears after changing the programs from the ControlOne, but
Im
not quite sure.

- Hmmmmm..... The Control One sometimes causes problems if a 5-pole
DIN-cable is used... but you said you have a "special Digitech- cable" this
is a 6- pole-type. So I dont think that's the problem.... But wait.. I first
had a Control One with bad soldered DIN-plug.... yes... caused another
consequence... but electronic is a mysterious thing. About the JMP... it
can't cause a probleb, because it's connected to the MIDI-OUT!

-Last method to restart was an complete system reset and a change of the
memory
battery,

So the battery was low??? You replaced it to the right type?

everything works fine without any other equipment connected.

Is the Control One connected while everything works fine?

But problems came back after programming and saving with the whole
racksystem!
-My local dealer thinks their could be a defect cable or wrong
MIDI-Conversation
which "hangs up" the system, because the 2101 "stanalone" has no problems at
the
dealer.

Hmmm... this is the dealer who can check the memory- chips... :-) ....
I still do not understand if the GSP 2101 controlls the rack or reverse. IS
there MIDI - action on the MIDI-IN?

Gre
Dieter
