Using the 2101 effects loop for other prosessors

Hello out there,
I have a 2101LE and want to also use my Korg A3
through the FX loop in the back of the 2101. I ran the
2101FX send to the input of the A3, and the FX return to the output of
the A3. I set up an un-effected patch on the 2101for running the A3 through, and
set the 2101 patch to no-sum. Nothing happens-I get no A3.
Is there something I need to activate? The manual
is light in this area.-HELP!
