Digitech always want to sell their SDISC II, because they have only less SDISC I on stock (I think) .... "The SDISC II was a drop in replacement" Randy Thorderson wrote once... But OK. The SDISC II works too.
How to replace it:
Store a Bulk- Dump. (This is not necessary, but only for safety)
Pull all plugs out of the GSP.
Remove the six side-panel screws
Remove the rear-panel top center screw
Remove the front-panel top center hex- bolt
Remove the lid
Pull the PPC 210
Now you need a PLCC84 - Pulling- tool.
It looks so:
How to use it:
SO:
Don't buy that tool! Lend it from any computer- store or radio/TV- workshop.
If you can't get it... dont worry. Take a very small screwdriver and carefully (!) pull out the SDISC- processor. There are two small holes on 2 corners of the socket. Put in the screwdriver only(!) on that two holes!!! Very important!!!!
Now take the new SDISC and press it carefully into the socket. Please don't touch the pins of the processor (static protection). Make sure that you put it in in the right direction!!. There is a chamfered corner. It must coincide to the socket. The writing must bu upside of course.
Mount the PPC 210
Mount the lid
That's it.

UUUUPS.... I'm so sorry.... It's not L 15 ...... It's L 27.

No! You find it so: Localize the PPC 210. Localize the 30 pin- connector where the PPC210 is mounted on. The little SMD- Coil is next to that 30 pin connector. There is printed L27 on the mainboard. But that text "L27" stands not next to the coil. It stands a little bit remote to the coil. I have no foto .... But it's easy to find. Its about 2 mm long and 1 mm wide and 0.8 mm thick. If "100" is printed on it. It's OK. If not- contact me!
