Reverse Delay

Reverse Delay

Does anyone have an algorythm for a reverse delay- a la Hendrix?
This unit does everything else, it must do this.....

Thanks,
RJ

Well, it is physically imposable to do REAL reverse
delay, since the processor would have to know what you
were going to play before you played it. However, the
effect can be faked by reversing the envelope of the
sound. A slow attack with a sharp decay makes it seem
like the note is backwards. There is a bad factory
preset on the 2101 3.0.0a. It is ELECTRIC SARALAND
#53. Maybe you can try tweaking it. It is awful!

Regards,
Jeff B.

Yep, I agree with Jeff B - ELECTRIC SARALAND is pretty awful.
Another way you can get a "reverse" delay sound is by using a gated reverb. None of the factory algorithms includes this module so you'll have to build a user algorithm.
Use the [Reverb] button repeatedly to select the "Gated Reverb" module for including in your user algorithm.
When editing a program that includes this user algorithm, scroll to the Gated Reverb module and select the "Build" setting for the "Shape" parameter. When you first try this program, it'll probably sound just as awful as the ELECTRIC SARALAND program. However, tweaking the other Gated Reverb parameters and blending this effect by adjusting the Wet to Dry Mixer can give you an acceptable effect.
Best of luck.
