Need for a hard reset

Need for a hard reset

2005-10-31 by gusfmm

What a coincidence... I turned on my 2101LE on Saturday and the screen
went totally blank and the system seemed to go nowhere. It was not the
screen as it was lighted, and mine looks still very bright and nice.

I tried turning the unit off and back on a few times with no luck. So
right when I was facing the fear face-to-face, I decided to hard-reset
it, pushing the F1 key while turning it on. Voile... it came back
alright, everything seems to be working well. Just that I lost all my
patches, but that was not that big of a deal, had backup.

This is the first time this happens in a few years owning the unit, so
I'm wondering whether this is something that may be just fortuite or
is it an indication of a different potentially forthcoming issue? I
don't think it's got anything to do with the power transformer as some
have been inquiring about on recent posts. I

Any other experience alike or comments?

Never happened to me in ten years. I've had corrupt patches before and once
the unit just went dark but that was a power transformer.

for my part, i have to wait aprox 5 minutes after switching on, before anything hells than light from the screen and leds happen. after that moment, the system boots more than once, to finaly work fine...
i 'm thinking about change the both eprom 3.00.00 firmware..
it's a pity that we have to restore those hold GSP2101 only because there is nothing to replace it !!!
i downloaded all manuals of all guit/bass processors, i read it, i did not find
something like the stereo algorythm matrix of the GSP. if somebody know about a processor that perpose several virtual mix tables with pan, for insert anywhere in a real stereo (two INPUTS) FX algorythm, i'm interested !

Have you changed the backup battery lately? I would
try that first.
