Re: [k5synth] New Member Presentation

2013-10-09 by Brujerman

Hi Lars,

The K5 is a true classic. I sold the Kawai K3, K5,K4 keyboards and modules as well as the original Kurzweil K1000 line when they were being manufactured. I have a K5, K5m (needs backlight) and the K5000. Vibrant tones from these harmonic beauties.

Great to see your qualifications as well.

Welcome.

Bruce

I'm new to the K5m myself, but a I have a friend who lives in Idaho who is a vintage synth tech like yourself, who might be able to point you to some resources. His name is Douglas Huesby, and he operates a business/online synth museum called Synth Ark, where he is collecting a lot of technical data and sample libraries of older synths. That's who connected me up with my K5m. Although he personally hasn't worked with the K5 as much as other units, he's got good experience with the K4 and K5000, and he's got some great connections with people who worked on the K5 when it was being manufactured. Here's a link to his Facebook page. I'm sure he would love to hear from another engineer.
