Re: [k5synth] K5 sound transfer

It should work with both PROTECT (menu and physical switches) set to OFF. MIDIOX and sysex or MIDI files should work I believe

Yes. I have gone through that part of the manual so many times looking for something I missed.

I have been through the instruction for the Kfuenf software which suggested I need to be in the int/ext display for downloads to work and that didn’t help.

I have a feeling there was something else I have to do but remembering something from 25 years ago is a stretch.

Iain,

Although I haven’t owned or used a K5 or K5m in 20 years, I downloaded the manual and read the chapter about dumping/loading data through Midi.

Just checking,

Have you connected both Midi in and out of the K5 to your source ? The K5/K5m needs a so called hand-shake process for recieving Blocks of patches.

I appreciate all the feedback I am getting but am I missing something really simple.

To transfer sounds to a K5 what do you need to do other than go into the Midi section and set the following:

TRS=1 , RCV=1

OMNI=ON

TRS=ON, RCV=ON

PGM=MULTI

Do I have to be in a specific screen to receive the sounds, is their anything else no matter how obvious that I am not doing??

Thanks

Iain.
