The only difference is that the C is for CMOS, so it consumes less power in use. Both are interchangeable. > Second, can I use a 28(C)512 since it's an EEPROM, so I don't need an > UV SW light to erase it(And it appears that the EPROM slows down after > a couple of erasings) If the flash part has adress and data bus, R/W, CS and all the rest in the right place then it should be plug and play. The access-time is the only important issue. It shouldn't be any slower than the original EPROM. If it's faster, then it shouldn't be a problem - it just means the data is waiting on the data bus quicker. Point taken on your second message. The UV erase cycle needs to be precisely controlled, otherwise you get stuck bits, or flipped bits that refuse to program ever again. The other problem with UV proms is programming Voltage Vp which varies from Manufacturer to Manufacturer - some are 12V and some are 21V or in even older gear 25V programmable. Have fun Adam
