Hello,
I am posting a link to a good page that deals with a couple of Good Kawai K-5 
fixes and hacks...including the free rom upgrade and LCD fix.

I figured out that if you have 8 keys "in a row" that are not working on the K-5 it 
is  not merely an issue of dirty contacts, it is the main board.
My particular problem i contacted Troy Reigleman at Kawai about, and spoke 
with the keyboard tech there. My K-5 has 8 keys in a row that do not work, and 
yet, when it is midi'ed i can play the full range of keys. This is an ominous 
problem that i would have to have major brain surgery to fix. However, i also 
had a lower key (a single key) that did not play that was easily fixed from a 
good cleaning. The instructions to clean the contacts are at the link above. In 
order to fix my K-5 it would cost me with shipping about 200.00. It would not 
be that bad because i got my K-5 for free.
Anyhoo, i'll take some good digital shots of the K-5 anyway and upload them 
here until i decide what im going to do.
