Hello all, I just uploaded some MP3 into the files section. I created a folder "K% MKS70 Hybrid", look there if interested. I wanted to upload a few more files, but it looks like we are out of room (all 20M are filled)- can we get more space? Anyway, here is what I posted: I recorded some demos of my K5/MKS70 hybrid. All tracks are recorded without effects, except for the buil-in chorus on the MKS70. The first track (Mixdemo_K5_MKS70) gives you a taste of the K5/MKS70 sound. Please excuse my lame playing and rather just focus on the sound. From this demo, it is hard to tell how much of the sound is the K5 and how much is the MKS70 so I included three additional files ( DemoK5_MKS70 2 through 5). Each of these tracks follows the same basic pattern: 1) The file starts out with just the K5 and the MKS70 filter wide open and the chorus off. Basically, this is just the raw K5 sound 2) Next, I turn on the Chorus (setting 2) on the MKS70. This creates a stereo spread and adds a rich chorus to the K5 sound. 3) Then I bring in the MKS70 filter at various settings and (frequency and resonance) and various modulations. Note the K5 is running through these 24 dB, self-oscillating, ANALOG Roland filters. 4) Finally, the MKS70 has two DCOs, I turn them on and add them to the K5. Usually I turn the DCOs to a very low pitch to add some (much needed) bottom end to the K5. Sometimes I use one DCO to generate (much needed at times)white noise. This is the full hybrid K5/MKS70 sound: K5 additive oscillators (usually a multi with three layers) two MKS70 DCOs, all running through the filters, envelopes and chorus of the MKS70 the perfect monster. Also, on the second snipit of "Mixdemo_K5_MKS70) I use a MKS70 sync sound mixed with a K5 vocal sound a K5 with sync and analog filters, what more can you ask for??? If you fall in love and must have this sound, PM me and I will send you a "how to" modify a MKS70 .pdf file I made. Just buy a MKS70 and follow my directions, and you too can have a K5/MKS70 hybrid! Enjoy.
