UK Eprom burning facility?

UK Eprom burning facility?

2004-07-28 by Adam Moss

Hi again,

I know Kawai will send you a replacement EPROM, but does anyone
have an Eprom burning facility on the group in England who can do the
same thing? It's always useful to know if any members have special
equipment etc. which they make like to make available to other
members.

TIA

Adam

You can build you one if you want.

Search for DIY EEPROM burner.

That's a viable option if you've more than one EPROM to program, but
not if you only have one device to do.

btw The device is a 27512 64k x 8 UV EPROM, not an EEPROM

But for less then 10$(to build), maybe it will turn cheaper than pay to
burn it.(there are less than 10 components in it)
Maybe you'd prefer to receive one from Kawai?
Also, you can sell your burner after ;-)

Re: UK Eprom burning facility?

? You then need a UV eraser for any devices which you fudge or want
to recycle. The UV tube has a specific wavelength for these devices
and will cost more than $10, unless you're lucky with surplus.

I'll spend my time building a MIDI to CV converter for my older gear
instead, and just order the chip. Life is too short ;-)
