Kawai Synthesizers

Hi,Just picked up a Q-80 and Manual.
i did not get a power supply but using a universal PS (even though 
it does not actually switch to 10v).its set on 9!
works fine though..only think I can't get it to do is read a SNG 
file I dumped onto disk using the PC..when the disc is inserted and 
enter pressed the disc just spins up and does not actually do 
anything. and the stop button does not stop it..
the drive looks and sound ok, but I read the unit uses single 
sided/double density disks???  is this true?? and if so,would the 
symptoms I described be happening as the disk drive can't read 
DS/HD??
also..If I was to replace the Drive with a modern one..would the
Kawai still work?? has anyone tried this after DD failiure??
