Hey Seq, Kawai US will give you the latest firmware for your K4 synth. All you need to do is contact them. They ask for a payment then they will hold the payment until you return the old eprom. When they get the old eprom back they refund your payment. This way they don't have their firmware floating around the web. They also have the Service Manual for $35US. I'm not sure what revision the K4 keyboard is up to currently. The K4r module has V1.4. I updated my K4r from V1.3 and didn't notice any changes in the unit. Of course it didn't have any prolems to begin with that I knew of. I've never heard of the K4 firmware fixing a click or attack transient but hey who knows. About the clicking... I have on occasion found some K4 patches that sounded like this. After auditioning these in headphones I could hear a fast attack transient that was actually programmed into the patch. Through my studio monitors all I heard was a click because I didn't have the volume cranked enough to hear the subtle details. Is this what's going on? If you think this is not the case and you have a malfunction you could send the patches to one of us so we can listen for this click. I have a huge library of K4 patches and probably have these patches. So you could just tell me what the patches are and what bank they are from. Are these multis or singles? I'll help out if I can, Narfman --- In kawaisynths@yahoogroups.com, "sequins_studio" <sequins@...> wrote: > > Hello, > > I recently bought a K4, I've been playing around with it and everything > seems OK. > > Except the very loud filter clicks on some patches... they truly bother > me. > > Can anything be done about that?
