Kawai K4 internal battery

Kawai K4 internal battery

2006-08-02 by Arthur Alexander Crichton

Hi,

I recently bought a Kawai K4 secondhand. However, when I power up the
synth I get the display reading "check internal battery". I have also
found that all the sounds are wiped off aswell.

I have opened the K4 but cannot find the internal battery.

Where can I find the internal battery? and is it easy to replace?
Also, what kind of battery should I buy?

Please advise

Arthur

it is not very easy to get to, there is a circuit
board that you have to remove,if i remember correctly
it is covered my a thin metal shield, the ciruit board
is for the midi connections and the battery is hidden
by this (please take note that it has been a couple of
years since I did this) I found that the hardest thing
was getting everything put back together just right.

Hi! K4 & K4R module share CR2032 battery. In relation to 'lost
sounds' (patches). Kawai USA supplies the 'original patches' to
download from 'Support'. There are two ways to load the patches
within the K4: PCMCIA card or through MIDI cable. At eBay there are
K4 PCMCIA cards for sale, sometimes. If you have an empty PCMCIA
card, you must. First: Format it within the K4, after insert it.
Second : Load the patches downloaded from KAWAI USA or other supplier
( There are some patches in the net, yet ) within the card, using a
PC or a notebook. Third: Insert the card with the new patches within
the K4. Fourth: Read the manual to instruct about it. There is a
downloadable manual at KAWAI USA. My name is : Eduardo Ibarra S.; I
live in CHILE. I have a K4 with problems & a K4R in good condition. I
have an ENSONIQ SQ1plus synth, too, with excellent 'sounds', a great
piano, amazing organs and beautiful strings. If you need more 'info
about', just tell me. Read you...!
