Mono/Poly Tuning Half-Step Sharp

Mono/Poly Tuning Half-Step Sharp

2019-09-16 by philiptaylor_79@yahoo.com

Hi everyone,

This is my first post here. So, I've had my Mono/Poly for over a year now and everything worked perfectly until yesterday, when, out of the blue the tuning went sharp by a half step. I have the Tubbutec modypoly upgrade and was sending MIDI via my Digitone, recording onto a four-trape tape recorder. I don't know if this is connected (very much doubt it), but I was trying to change the clock divider via MIDI CC, but I think I did something wrong, as it didn't work. And then the channel on my four-track that was receiving audio from my Mono/Poly cut out. Turned the synth on and off, still no sound. I did a "factory reset" of the synth as outlined in the Tubbutec manual, and after that the machine was playing half a step sharp.

Any ideas what could be going on here? I'm not at all tech-y, so I can't run any checks or diagnostics. Obviously, I can compensate by adjusting the master tuning accordingly, but I'm concerned that there could be a bigger problem here. Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Phil

A very common mistake is to record a pitch bend unwillingly which then
will offset the tuning each time the corresponding sequence is received.
As long as no resetting Pitch Bend command is received, this offset will
stay...
