The only difference between the MK-I and MK-II is that the MK-II has a digital delay instead of a chorus unit. Since the chorus was done in hardware on the KLM-598 board, I think it reasonable to suspect that, using the MK-I schematics, you could troubleshoot and repair everything on a MK-II except for the digital delay.
