I had a similar problem when I first bought my EX800. Now, the
battery in mine is long gone, so maybe it's not the same situation
(does ANYONE know where I can buy a battery for this thing?!?!), but
I discovered that many of the syx banks for the EX800 on the net are
not readable by my EX800. Perhaps they are for the Poly800II or
something, I dunno. But in any event, I get the same exact
symptoms. I'll send the syx bank to the EX800, then when I try to
play anything I just get fairly faint swirly white noise. What's
worse, is thereafter even if I send a *good* syx bank to the EX800,
it won't read it. I guess the OS gets befuddled or something. I
have to turn the EX800 off and then on again to get it to take.

I put a file in this group under the "palancar" folder which does
work - try resetting your EX800 then sending this file to it and see
if that helps.

Oh, one other thing: be sure to set the value of parameter 86
to "1", or you can send syx to it all day and it'll never take.... :-
)

Hope this helps,
Darrell
