Drum machines are synthesized percussion ;) If you look around, a few of them will provide excellent controllable sound. I use an Allen & Heath Inpulse One from 1985, if you find one... then snap it up. They made less than 100, though ;) Anyway, have you checked out Sound on Sound? I don't know if they keep all their articles online, because they sell PDF CDs, but they have had a very comprehensive tutorial on programming drum sounds - mostly around the SH-101 (so I enjoyed it), but the theory can be applied to pretty much anything. The 808 kick and snare were featured a couple of months ago IIRC. http://www.sospubs.co.uk/ Richard -- Richard Kilpatrick, long haired prophet of doom. |\ _,,,---,,_ Musical suicide - www.mp3.com/RichardKilpatrick /,`.-'`' -. ;-;;, Work: Icon Publications, Group Sales Manager |,4- ) )-,_. ,\ ( `'::.
