Maybe too late, but here's my 2 cents.... :-)
When I bought my poly from ebay, I got an unmodified one.
Although there weren't a lot of poly's on ebay at the time,
I probably would have gone for the unmodified one.  My
thinking is, "who knows if this joker did a good job or not?"
(no judgement on YOUR abilities).  Of course others might
lean toward, "I can't do the mod myself so I should get one
that's already modded."...  All things being equal, skipping
the mod is less trouble for you. :-D
