Hi Michael, There isn't really any easy way to put a battery holder in the normal place on those old boards. I usually put a CR2032 holder way over on the little board with 3 trimpots, over beside the C cell holder. There is already one little hole drilled in it on the far side of the trimpots. I just measure the right location for another hole, drill it, stick the battery holder in and bend the solder tabs so it doesn't fall out. It needs to be a very, very small hole. So, here is how I do it: 1 - Remove the main board. 2 - Remove R1 and D1 (in the corner near where the A/C adapter plugs in). 3 - Remove the little board with the 3 trimmers and drill another hole for the battery holder. 4 - Put the battery holder in and solder black and red wires to it. (red is positive). 5 - Attach the other end of the wires to the holes where D1 came from. (red near the edge of the board and black near the "D1" label) Stick in a new CR2032, reload your patches, and you should be all set.
