 Probably. I was looking
 here: https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/korgpolyex/files/2%29%20EX-800/Servicing/
 In there it says the
switches are no longer available. Is that still true? Is
there an equivalent replacement part I can get? I can try to
clean the existing ones and see what happens.

 Apologies if I'm
asking questions that have been answered a dozen times.
It's hard to sift through 16 years of group discussion.
Please point me to a FAQ, etc. if there is one and I'll
 stop blathering ;)

I figured out the problem. There must have been some gunk in
the pots that was causing a problem. I bought some DeoxIT
that arrived today, so I hit the pots with it, particularly
the volume control. I let it dry for a while, closed it back
up, and now it behaves like it's supposed to. The volume
actually changes when you turn the knob, so hooray! I think
this poor module must have seen some abuse (smoke?) because
now I noticed that the program/parameter button isn't
always registering. Ah well, the beauty of vintage synths,
yeah? It's all good, I've been enjoying playing it.

Could just be that the tact switch has
 worn out. You can buy
  replacements, and
it's worth getting all of them out if you do one
because the rest won't be much better and
 they'll feel different.
