Bass programming?

Hehe, sorry for another post, but I've been offline for a couple of weeks and this slipped my mind (as is wont to happen...) Anyway, does anyone know (or can take a stab at) the programming for a bass sound similar to the one in Devo's "Whip it"? Kinda a short, sharp, funky bass-synth... Also, any ideas as to whether trying to get the poly to do fairly fast arp-type MIDI sequences would wipe it? eg. something along the lines of the 303-type bit in The Bloodhound Gang's "The Bad Touch" (you know, "you and me, baby, ain't nothin' but mammals...")
