To make the poly800 respond to only one channel, you will have to send a midi control 124 message ( omni off, i think it is ) .. hope this helps !

Hi all,

My Poly-800 seems to play midi information on all channels regardless of the
setting of parameter 86. Does anyone know of a way to fix this problem?

Is there a spec that outlines all the MIDI controllers, RPNs, and
sysex that the Poly800/EX800 will respond to (and emit)??
