Hey there,
]I have a POly 800mk2 and an mbox, running logic and protools.... on a PPC mac book pro laptop

Always have a latency problem with my Synth. have checked my audio settings and I always keep it at about the smallest buffer I can...

Thing is, when I listen back to say a bassline i recorded its always out or sounds weird.......

This is definitely a computer/interface issue, rather than a Poly-800
thing. As such, it's technically outside the scope of this list, I'd
say.

I could offer some general advice though:
You should look at the Logic/ProTools documentation, and look up
latency compensation. You should also consider rejigging your setup
so you're listening to the output of your synth before it passes
through your computer and out again. Some audio interfaces have the
option of direct monitoring the input, so you hear what you're
playing before it goes through your computer's input/output buffers.
I'm not familiar with the specs of the MBox, but I'd be surprised if
it didn't offer this option. Again, check the documentation that came
with the interface.
ProTools and Logic should both be able to compensate for buffer delay
by shifting recorded audio so it's in time with already-recorded
tracks. It's a complicated subject though, so you need to read up on it.

Hope this helps,

I run logic 8 with an amt8 (emagic midi patch) and i run 256 buffer latency with no problems.
record the keys in, hit quantize and record the audio back in through my rme fireface 800 and i reckon at worst
i suffer about 15ms.
