Welcome This!

Welcome This!

2002-10-12 by Undisclosed / Jermy Johnson

Hey Gang i'm new to this group.

get this... i just won a Poly 800 on ebay for $61.00
Wow!.... i have done plenty of research on this synth forever
so much in fact, that i know it doesnt have a backup batt.
(only the mkII and the EX have a battery)

well.... some housewife was selling one on ebay and said
"it's acting like the battery is dead, i have never changed one
and i DO NOT HAVE the battery"
                   weird huh...
so it went for mega cheap
when obviously the c-cells just ran out
it was even titled "KORG POLY 800 SYNTH needs battery"

she could have got twice that price

           well anyhow...
ive got plenty of questions regarding the filter mod
, ive pretty much got it... i just need a couple of things
cleared up... so anyone who's done it different ways
please give a holler.... i'd like to discuss

                                          love, jermy

Uhu! Cheap one ;o) In Brazil they cost around $100-120

Interesting is that I have a MK1 and HAVE a battery. Of course, this
seems to be a third-party mod. But I read in the net that ALL the
Poly 800 can have a battery fitted (and, btw, it SHOULD have a
battery fitted ;o)))

Is it so expensive in USA this way? ;o)))

I'm planing in doing the same, or waiting for another Poly 800 to
screw up. This seems to be a VERY nice synth to hack. I can already
put more memory banks on it, and I think I can hack the firmware to
select more memory banks on the keyboard. Dunno if it will ever be of
any use.

	Peace & Love Inc., man...

I have owned at least 5 Poly800 MKI and only 2 of those came with a battery
installed at the factory, and getting a the filter resonance mods are
actually a great improvement to this already nice synth, (I also do the
noise level mod, for instant stormy winds)
