Korg Poly-800 mkII // Digital Line Noise Issue...

2014-03-25 by <quiet_channel@...>

Hello!
My Poly-800 mkII has quite a high noise-to-signal ratio. I have listened closely and it sounds not like the white noise generator, but more like clock/digital noise bleeding into the audio path. No parameters or delay settings have any effect on this line noise. It begins as soon as a note is depressed and decreases to a much lower level when the noise gate releases (Usually a second or two after the end of the DCO/VCF envelopes and any delay trails).

Are all Poly-800 mkII's like this?

There must be a way to improve this S-N-R, right?

I am eagerly awaiting your reply!

have you tried using the MII in a different location/room/outlet (if on AC adaptor).
How about running on batteries?
Any evidence of someone inside the unit? Maybe left some shielding out? My MI Poly has a huge flat shield under the main PCB and another above the Chorus Board.
Any shielding wires unhooked?

Does the sound change when the LED's change or program change/parameter changes?

Can you record the noise and post it?
