Upgrade Boot and OS flash instructions?

Upgrade Boot and OS flash instructions?

2017-02-26 by bperkins211@...

where's the instructions on how to re flash the Boot and OS?

I see in the manual,

"11 GL 25 = Jump into flash update routine
Pressing the “Write” key will cause the synthesizer to jump into flash ROM upgrade mode. See Upgrading the
Software on your HAWK-800 for flash ROM upgrade instruction."

but I cant find the "Upgrading the
Software on your HAWK-800" section anywhere in the manual.

I only vaguely remember how to upgrade the ROM's in the Hawk.

I remember something about removing one of the ROM chips from the Hawk when doing the Boot upgrade.. that way you had the old boot ROM unmolested in case the new Boot flash failed and you wouldnt be "bricked" out.

Either I'm stuck on stupid and cant find this information or it somehow disappeared from the files.

Help please...

/Blaine

See https://sourceforge.net/p/hawk800/discussion/software/thread/383396e6/

Give me ten minutes and I shall have the boot code in the ZIP on sourceforge.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
