Hi All, I need some advice on how to hook up a computer based
HD recording system that uses a lot of synths (4-5) but few to
none mics. That is, I have a bunch of stereo line output devices
that I need to get into the computer, mix, and monitor.

My current set-up is everything goes into a Mackie 1202 (too
small for my current # of synths) and through an M-Audio delta
66 and into a mac G4.

I occasionally use one of the mic preamps on the 1202 to record
some guitar and vocals but that doesn't happen too often.

What I need is a way to get a lot of stereo inputs mixed and into
the computer so I can use them all at once. How do people do
this w/o using a big mixer? Is there another way to do this w/o
using a big mixer? I don't use half the stuff on the 1202
(panning/eq/ etc all happens inside the sequencer (logic)) and I
would like to eliminate the mixer part altogether if possible.

I am probably missing something obvious here.

Thanks,
Dave

P.S. My previous post on patchbay recommendations turned up
the following data: The Re'an got the best marks, (4 yeahs, 0
nays), followed by Proco (1, 0), dbx (1, 0), Hosa (1, 0), Tascam
(1, 2), and Neutrik (0, 1).
