Well, if you can make it to the Isle of Wight I live 3 minutes walk from a very fine pub... But you'd have to go here... http://uk8.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?client=europe&=&overviewmap=ap&lang=& width=700&client=&addr1=&addr2=&addr3=&pc=PO301NR&db=ap&cname=Great+Britain& height=400&coordsys=gb&SUBMIT=Find ...and finding an address like that might give you a headache > > I agree with you totally what you did at the MPG. Captain Janeway, sensors detect significant emissions of concurrence. This must be an anomaly. Shall I recalibrate, or remodulate the sensor array? (Oops, can't say that - that's an American series - I'm not supposed to like it...) >> I see limits in the ability of the group to make any difference >> here, > Yup. > But then again ... there's also limits to an individual's ability to see > what's important and how things affect other members of the group near and > far unless the group (or someone in it) makes this clear. On the other hand, there is a difference between individuals thinking things through for themselves, going into group discussion and working a collective solution through and individuals copping out and handing over responsibility to outside forces. This is what happens with the health service - many people hand over responsibility for their health to a drug-prescribing system which can't cope and sucks in more and more money, when they could be taking responsibility for stuff like diet and exercise and dealing with many problems before they arise. >> but to me there is a group responsibility as well as an individual >> responsibility. > Can't recall ever -- EVER -- saying anything different. I'm sure you didn't. >> Time to give this keyboard a rest... > OK. Next drink's on me. Bridge to captain - a pint of real ale is asking permission to beam aboard...shall I arm photon torpedoes?
