Hmm. Just looking at the Gibson 'its magic' article: http://www.gibsonmagic.com/thisismagic.html was wondering if the folks who developed the MIDI spec have thought about designing a new MIDI spec to bring it up to date. Ie. take advantage of high throughput, go to a packet based solution (timing issues?) or what? Is this covered in music protocols over firewire or is there an attempt at an industry standard? Not just MIDI though, audio, video, clocking etc..
