Really? (seriously). I've never had a problem with a CPU upgrade... they all
come from either IBM or Motorola and they're all G3's or G4's. If PC, they're
all Pentium-compatible, right?

Anyway, my point was that most people don't even do any research anyhow. They
ask questions like "What kind of CPU upgrade should I get?" instead of "I'm
looking to upgrade the CPU on my computer. I read a performance test at xyz.com
which said [link to site]. Also, on site abc.com they say that the new
processors from WhizBangInc don't work well for audio. What are the experiences
of the members of this group?"

A question like that shows that someone did a bit of research first, and I
imagine that myself and many other members of the group would be much more
willing to help. I know I'm not going to go out of my way to help someone who
wants the information handed to them.

Must be a PC thing, sorry. I just plugged in my ATi Rage 128 VR and it worked
happily alongside my factory SCSI card and my M-Audio Delta 66. No problems at
all.

Yes, but easy to find most of the answers elsewhere first. This isn't _really_ a
Logic-specific question, is it? More like a question of general protocol
throughput, which I think goes under the "learn more about your PC" category.

Uhhh... well, that guy who was complaining about not being able to run Internet
Explorer at the same time, and wondering why Logic crashed when he was doing
so... I just wanted to hit him with a big clue stick.

Patient: Hey doc, my left arm hurts when I walk 10 paces, do a somersault, stand
up, and then do 27 jumping jacks and shout "Bleep braaaack bozonk!". What do I
do?

Doc: Don't do that, and you'll be fine.

Yeah, maybe. But still. If the upgrade isn't released yet, what does it matter?
Emagic will let us know. Until then, MAKE SOME MUSIC AND DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT!!!

If you're not happy with your current platform, don't blame it on Emagic, and
don't think some mystery update is going to save you. There are a LOT of people
on this list who are running many variations of Mac and PC setups who are
extremely happy and trouble-free. If you can't get a stable system now, in the
present time, you need to learn more about your computer (elsewhere). Win2000,
MP G4 support, or OS X support is NOT going to be the end-all be-all solution to
your problems.

Until the next release or upgrade comes out, learn how to get your current
version working properly.

(note: I'm not talking about bugs. Yes, there are bugs. I'm talking about people
who think that another OS is going to solve their problems... problems that most
of us running current Mac or Windows operating systems just don't have, because
we have learned (through other sources and our own research) how to properly
maintain our computers.)

Nothing left but helpful and relevant information.
