Does any company make a PORTABLE MiniDisc Recorder with an optical 
(digital) out.  It seems like every portable MD only has an audio out, and 
only the decks have an optical out.  What is up with that?

Also, are there any CD Recorders with Minidisks?  I've seen CD Players with 
MD recorders (decks), but not the other way around.  Doesn't this seem like 
a good product to make?  Record a rehearsal with your (portable if 
possible) Minidisk Recorder, and burn CDs (digital-->digital) for everybody 
in the band; sounds very useful to me.

If the only way to get an optical out on a Minidisk recorder is to buy a 
deck, can anyone recommend a good and reasonably priced deck?
