Does the digi96 series feature the same low > latency as the Hammerfall for virtual instrument plugins, like my > EXS24/ES1, and others. The 96/8 eg allows for a latency of 6ms, whereas the Hammerfall allows for 1.5ms (which actually works in many cases on my Celeron 500!) Also I _think_ (not sure at all) that the Hammerfall has some better technology: I'm not sure whether both cards use the same technology. The Hammerfall has part of the driver burnt inside a chip or so. > I'm currently using a Gadget Labs Wavepro 824, with my > PIII450/100mhz bus and 256ram, and I may be getting around 12ms > playing response. Can I get that with the > Digi96/8pst Digo 96/8 has 6ms minimum afaik. > I can get by with just a single ADAT interface at a time, > and the spdif interface, and the stereo analog I/O is fine for me. The Hammerfall allows SPDIF on a cinch connection, as well as SPDIF through one of its optical I/O (only works with the first I/O). I really miss analog I/O and most of all AES/EBU connection on the Hammerfall (although AES/EBU is possible as well, but via its cinch cable) Hope this helps, Joeri -- Joeri Vankeirsbilck joeri@...
