Just a query about sound quality and mic-pre quality in Allen and Heath mixers. I was looking at the WZ20S stereo mixer and wondering how it compares with the Mackie 1642. I checked out Mackies and Allen and Heaths, and I liked the Allen and Heath (WZ something, it's the 8 bus one). The Mackie is probably a bit quieter, but the EQ on the A&H sounds WAY nicer to my ears. I think the Mackie is more neutral and clinical sounding, and the A&H adds a bit of warmth, without really coloring the sound if you know what I mean. IMHO of course, but it's a data point for you... -smeet [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
