I don't understand your logic in not switching to Mac given your flexibility 
in the past. 
Emagic already "sold out" in a sense - they were Mac only up until a few 
years ago, when 
they ported to the PC.  I suspect they continue to be mac-firsters, even with 
cross-compilers.

Germany and Cupertino are on other sides of the world so I don't think Apple 
will take too much control. 
But since Apple seems to be dedicated to music and media, they will probably 
provide financial cushion 
so Emagic can really develop. Its not just an aquistion - the way Microsoft 
would do it. Its something
they are committed to and believe in. 

And XP is no comparison to OS X - OS X is a next generation OS. Have an open 
mind.
