I feel so enriched by the philosophical treasures this list has provided. I would like to summarize just a few of the pearls our sages have given us over the last week and a half alone. * The people who build a company have no right to sell it and should be sued for doing so. * A company has no right to make a marketing decision and should be sued for doing so. * Anytime a company makes a decision that does not benefit me personally they are being unethical and should be sued. * A company has no right to discontinue a product and can be sued for doing so (I guess that's why the Model T is still a proud part of the Ford product line). * To say that you will stop selling something at a future date is exactly like saying you are going to take away something you have already sold, grounds for a law suit plain and simple. * A company has no right to buy another one that is for sale for the purposes of enhancing it's product line. * Apple is clearly buying e-magic to get logic off the market. * Apple has hired developers from Opcode the inventor of Acid, bought e-magic and have incorporated audio and midi functions into the OS. Clearly PC is the platform of choice for the music industry professional. * Microsoft is the friend of the people Apple with its 5% (?) market share is an evil monopoly. * An company with a 5% market share has a moral obligation to support the products of a competitor with a 90% market share. * No matter how many times they say or write that they make no guarantees and their software is sold "as is" a software company has a moral obligation to provide updates for all of eternity. * The value of a product has nothing to do with its ability to perform its designated function at the time you buy it. * The value of a product has nothing to with its ability to perform its designated function at the current moment either. * If there is a possibility that the product you own may become obsolete at a future date you should not wait for the competitors product to overtake it but should instead buy the competitors product right away regardless of its *current* relative merit.
