The Logic Off Topic list

i am using logic 5.5 on mac os x, and using it to tranmit midi messages to a 
synth i built in max msp, the synth interprets a list of two numbers, pitch, and 
duration, is there a way to make logic transmit the length of the note being 
played rather than just signifying the end of the note when the velocity hits 0? 
any suggestions would be much appreciated, my email is
