This being an OT message, please reply to the Logic OT-list (logic-ot@yahoogroups.com) or privately to 'h at knoware dot nl'. A question a friend of mine sent me today, and to which I have no answer. Maybe the collective wisdom of this group can shed some light on this issue. --- I have a strange problem reading files from a DVD-R (ROM format) which I wrote on my G4. The files are ON the disk but they have NO size, apparently... in the sense that I get "-" rather than, say, 1,06 GB. Problem: they won't copy to a hard disk: get error -40 - something about "tried to read before start of file". All this under OS 9.2.2. But - if I launch OS X, everything works. The DVDs were written under 9.2.2. The arcane is that, apparently, I can't get to read any file bigger than 2GB under OS 9.2.2 - from DVD only. But that was a general limit until 7.5 or something similar, right? I have files as long as 15GB in one single chunk on my hard disks, and no problem with them, the problem appears to be on DVD only (which is NOT hfs nor hfs+ as you know). The workaround is easy: boot with OSX, then copy the renegades to HD, then reboot with OS9. But IS THERE ANY DAMN STRAIGHT WAY TO GET THERE, in your opinion? --- Thanks for any replies in advance...
