Yup, I have one of these fine ol' beasties - allegedly used by
George Clinton & Prince. Years ago, it cost me 400 via mail order
when my local shop was offering end of line 303 and 808 bundles for
about 90. Muggins here thought it more clever to go digital. Life's
been like that.

A few of the same EPROMS were also in the Linn drum, I believe.
The bd's and snares are plenty flubby and the grungy 8 bit sizzle on
the cymbals do have some charm (though I came to loathe them with a
vengeance) and the clap is infamous - spookily, just as I got your
mail, the bastard thing came plopping out of this 'ere
Sasha/Airdrawndagger CD.

If you give me a bit of time, I'll dig it out from the six-months old
undone laundry it's festering under and, if it still works, I'll shove
it into SoundForge and try and get a full EXS24 soundset of it for you.
I'm sure, however, I've seen it on one of the freebie EXS download sites.
Whether those samples will be any cleaner than what I'll be able
to muster with my rusty old AW2, is debatable though...

Did I tell you about the time I blew 250 on the next big thing for
budget mastering? - a DCC recorder [you don't want to know].
