The Logic Off Topic list

I have a large music archive –my own compositions- which I need to 
catalogue in table form, listing length, comments, etc. I suppose 
this is easy enough with Excel, Word or similar, but it would be 
great to have an application that can do this and play back the .aiff 
Audio files too without having to switch applications or go into the 
Finder. Maybe there´s a way to link a list of Audiofiles to their 
disk location for Preview playback, I don´t know.

I´m checking out Library Monkey for instance

but I find it rather expensive at $399. Most of the iTunes utilities 
seem to be mp3-focussed, and I want to be able to make my own table 
rather than use iTunes comments fields.

Any suggestions from the Media Pros out there please?
