No, it should be the same one. The sidebar is just a group of aliases, and the default setup points to the folders inside your User folder. You should be able to drag your "real" Pictures folder into the sidebar if you want it there, but removing the now-misbehavin' one might be a bit more tricky as you're likely to have to do it in the Terminal (since you no longer have permissions over it for whatever reason). I wish I could provide more details on how to do this, but I'm not sure how the sidebar is stored in regarded to the BSD filesystem. Perhaps a search and/or post at Apple's discussion forums might find the answer. Good luck!
