I must've missed something... do you have a URL? What he may be thinking of is the 'dual core' CPUs which I think are supposed to start coming out in 2005 and 2006. Seems CPU makers are having a harder and harder time making faster and faster CPus (e.g. it took so long to go from 2 to 2.5 ghz G5s and that's still the fastest even now), so the big chip makers (IBM, Intel, etc) are going to start putting two cores on one CPU to help speed things up. I'm pretty sure it would be two G5 cores on one CPU etc... not an Intel core sitting next to an IBM one or anything of the sort. As has been mentioned a lot, Apple's #1 goal is selling hardware, releasing OSX for Windows hardware would sell them quite a bit more copies of software but they make their big bucks from the hardware.. I can't find any good links at the moment but I did read about both Intel and IBM wanting to do this and probably others too.. One thing I just came across, "A bit of a clue here for future developments, Intel wants to refer to the chips as being "multi-core" or "many- core" as opposed to "dual-core". Its no secret that quad (or even greater) core chips are on the drawing board for future release." (http://www.techspot.com/story15263.html)
