Out of curiosity, what exactly are you doing with these Indian sounds? I am
not unfamiliar with Indian music (I have several bollywood dvds, I have a bunch
of music hits on my ipod, and I have seen some indian concerts). But i don't
use indian sounds in my music. It gives it a 60's hippy sound in my opinion
(when George Harrison and others experimented with Indian sounds during the
psychodelic days). And of course, a sitar with its string bending is going to be
as hard or harder to sample than a guitar and get it right.
