There was a comparison of the various disk utilities in one of the magazines about 4 months ago. It seems each does slightly different things. Overall, Diskwarrior was one of the higher rated but not the only show in town. There is also DriveGenius which does defragging and other stuff. I bought it and used it but found it slow in its initial release. They updated it since then. Diskwarrior is fine, but in all honesty its not entirely clear that it really helps. It does help in cases like if you yank a firewire cable without ejecting, and it trashes your directory. that happened to me, and DW recreated the diretctory and saved the disk. I run it every so often "just to be sure". [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
