I was able to convert WAV to MP3 if they were already loaded into my itunes,
however, I had a whole batch of songs that just would not/could not   be dropped into, or 
otherwise loaded into itunes to be able to be converted to MP3.
It seems that this whole batch of WAVS are at 44.1khz/24bit, 
when I  converted them to 44.1khz/16bit in logic pro,
then I could load them into itunes, then they could be converted to MP3,
so no problem now !!
like i said before ,   this is info I needed for a friend who does not have logic.
