A very good alternative IMO are the sonalksis plugins, with the additional, considerable benefits of latency free working, and not being restricted to the number that can run on one card - a UAD card will run out of steam with between 7 - 9 of the "better" plug ins like 1176, or even less with others such as Nigel.
