I only understood half of what you said, but I think that if it works, it's OK. It depends on taste and way or working. This is how I work with it: - I do not use live inputs. I have a digital mixing desk. All my synths and drumboxes are routed to the digital desk. some outboard FX is connected to the digital desk too. I have a RME Hammerfall which is connected with 1 ADAT cable to the desk in both directions. - So, the synths and drumboxes are mixed in the digital desk. I use Logic for audiotracks and audio instruments (mainly EXS24 and FXPansion DR008). I've set up my audio environment this way that I can still reach to my outboard FX from within Logic! Stereo out is going to the digital desk. The other 6 channels that are going to the desk are setup as busses into Logic and as effect sends only in the desk. That way I can use the effects from within Logic and I can mix audio and audio instruments in Logic. I like this way of working very much. If anyone is interested, I can put my autoload song online.
