I think this is a bug.  (Logic Platinum Mac v4.7 and 4.72)

I have an Audio Instrument in my arrange window (EXS24).  I also have 
a Midi Channel for a Roland XV-88.  I first record a midi track with 
the EXS24, then I change to the XV-88's track, record midi, 
everything is great up to this point.  If I try to record another 
midi track to any Audio Instrument, nothing gets recorded.  I can 
play notes on my keyboard and the EXS24 (or Mercury-1) playback fine, 
but when I press record on the transport and the arrange windows 
shows it's recording, there are no notes appearing on the screen like 
usual and it ends up being a blank Audio Instrument track.  I've 
triple checked everything and I can always hear the EXS24 or M-1 
playing back the sounds.  The transport shows midi note information 
is coming through.  I'm baffled and it's annoying too.
