Computer-noise audible mousedraws, G4 -001

2000-01-12 by Besidestud@xxx.xxx

Hello Lugers
I just got my 001 and everything is working fine, exept:
If i conect anything with a powersupply (Desk,Soundexpanders FX etc) to its
in or outputs (conecting ground is enough) i can hear all moves inside of the
G4.
Including mousedraws, Harddisk spin, ram,scsi...
I dont think its the hardware ( oo1+ G4).I think its a grounding issue.
I had this a while ago with a PC and a DSP-factory, so....
Please help
Toni

Maybe using balanced lines is the solution?

I had the same problem with a Quadra 650 am2 +samplecell. I fixed it by
running every cable going into and out of my mixer through cheap D.I boxes
to balance the signals. I even had to balance the SMPTE connections. It
certainly fixed the problem though. Now I'm using a G3 korg 1212 with all
the same outboard gear and mixer and there are never any extraneous noises.
Makes me wonder if it's a Digi thing?
