Hi all!
Finally my old Tape machine (Fostex R8 8-Track) is broken and I want to buy the MOTU 2408 as a new recording device. I have already an AW8, which I want to synchronize with the Motu over the S/PDIF. Has anyone experienced some problems, or does this work fluently?. I often have to record drums, so I have to record 8 tracks at the same time. How high has the performance to be? Any issues and hints would be great!!

-PIII 500 MHz
-128 MB RAM
-IBM DDRS (UW2 SCSI, 5400 RPM for the programms & applications)
-Quantum Atlas 10k (UW2 SCSI, 10.000 RPM for audio only)
-Asus P3B Motherboard
-Adaptec UW2 SCSI adapter 2940 
-Unitor 8
-AW8
-Matrox G400

I have the MOTU 1224 and two AW8 cards,  I can't get them to sync up at
all.  No one at Emagic or MOTU seemed able to help me either.  Let me
know if you find a solution.

Have you tried to connect the S/PDIF out of the MOTU to AW8 1and the S/PDIF
out of this to the AW8 2? This seems obvious, but I cannot really understand
why it shouldn't work.

I am using the MOTU 1224 there is only aes/ebu and no s/pdif.  I guess
what I need to do is go out and find a digital format converter.
